Ms. Jamie Wagner oversees the operations of the University of Richmond’s Animal Facility and the Animal Care Program. She provides occupational support to biomedical research in the Biology and Psychology Department and supervises undergraduate students working with laboratory animals. She ensures compliance of institutional and federal regulatory policies with the IACUC, USDA-APHIS, NIH-OLAW, PHS, and AWA.
She has previous experience in animal welfare working with local law enforcement agencies and participates in legislative discussions and advocacy involving animal research. Her background in Veterinary Medicine specializes in exotic animals including reptiles, avians, wildlife, and other small mammals. She is compassionate about the ethical and scientific use of animals in biomedical research and laboratory science.
